About Me

Hello, I’m Kirsty. I’m a qualified counsellor working in Tewkesbury and online. People often come to see me when they feel worn down by the way life is unfolding — perhaps noticing the same difficulties repeating, feeling emotionally stretched, or wanting things to change but not knowing where to begin.

My way of working is thoughtful, steady, and collaborative. Counselling with me offers a space to talk things through openly, at your own pace, and begin to understand yourself with more clarity and kindness. You don’t need to arrive with clear goals or answers — we can work those out together as we go.

I am trauma-trained, and this informs how I support all clients. I pay close attention to how past experiences, relationships, and early ways of coping can shape how you feel and respond in the present. Our work focuses on helping you feel more grounded and emotionally regulated, so that change feels possible rather than overwhelming. You remain in control of what we explore, and nothing is rushed.

Alongside this, I am currently undertaking training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which can support the processing of distressing or past experiences that continue to have an impact in the present. I have also completed additional training in Autism-informed counselling, and I work in a way that respects different ways of thinking, feeling, and processing. Where helpful, I can adapt how we work together to support your individual needs.

A strong therapeutic relationship is central to my practice. I aim to work in a way that feels respectful, reliable, and human — where you can speak honestly without needing to explain yourself or meet expectations. Over time, many clients notice a greater sense of self-trust, emotional steadiness, and confidence in how they navigate their lives and relationships.

I offer face-to-face counselling from my Tewkesbury town centre practice, as well as online sessions, allowing for flexibility while maintaining consistency and continuity in the work.

Alongside my private practice, I have volunteered with Essential Space, supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, and with Young Gloucestershire, working with young adults aged 18–25 facing life transitions, loneliness, anger, and a sense of not belonging. These experiences continue to shape my belief in the importance of being met with care, reliability, and understanding.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework, ensuring counselling is offered safely and professionally.

If you’re considering counselling in Tewkesbury or online, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I offer a free introductory call, giving you space to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right next step.
